Keep it Simple - SW Basics Cream - 5 ways

Posted on June 02, 2015 | Posted under Cleanse Skincare, natural + organic skincare boutique, Natural Skincare, Organic, Organic Skincare, S.W Basics | Leave a Comment

It’s an awesome face and body moisturizer, but our bestselling S.W Basics Cream actually lends itself to a variety of unconventional uses. Below, is a break down by S.W Basics giving you 5 surprising ways to use their 3-ingredient, USDA-Certified Organic S.W. staple.

A Hair Mask

Got dry, brittle locks? Us, too! To remedy it, we’ll take a big dollop of our Cream and apply it thoroughly all over our hair, focusing on our ends. It’s great as an overnight treatment or use it before you head into the sun.

A Sunburn Ointment

The ultra-moisturizing blend of organic shea butter, organic coconut oil, and organic olive oil in our Cream is great for soothing sensitive, burned skin. Moreover, the antioxidants in both olive and coconut oil can help reduce the redness and damage from sun exposure. Apply liberally on your scorched areas. (Also, did you know shea butter has a natural SPF of 6?)

A Scalp Treatment

We go to great lengths to ensure our faces and limbs stay hydrated, but what about our scalps? Given they can be exposed to the harshest of personal care products – such as sulfate-filled shampoos – scalps actually need some major TLC. Take the Cream and rub it gently onto your scalp (as though you’re using shampoo), or spot-apply it where needed.

A Bug Bite Healer

So, you’ve gotten attacked by bugs…and are insanely itchy. The shea butter in our Cream will serve dual purposes here:

  1. It will assist in reducing inflammation.
  2. It will help prevent any scarring from your scratch-happy tendencies.

A Beard Treatment

A scratchy beard’s not-so-great underbelly? Dehydrated, irritated skin. Give your beard (or your man’s beard) a good rub down with our Cream to treat both the hair and the inflamed follicles.

Rejuvenate Your Skin with Natural Oils

The thought of putting oil on my skin used to totally freak me out. What if I break out with a face full of pimples!!!! Isn’t the idea to reduce the oil on my face not to add more?????

For most of us, our first introduction to oil was negative. Growing up we were told to dry out our skin and reduce the amount of oil our skin produced. “Oil  free” and “reduces oil” were very common terms thrown about in the skincare industry.

Since then research and knowledge about skincare has come a long way and we have learnt to value the benefits that using oils can have on your skin.

We now know that oils have quite the opposite effect and don’t cause breakouts. If we over cleanse and scrub our skin to dry it out and reduced oil build up, it actually has the opposite effect and the skin produces excess sebum to make up for the moisture loss If we use the correct oils to nourish and hydrate our skin our bodies produce less oil and this creates balanced healthy happy skin. So in actual fact your skin needs oil.

At Cleanse Skincare we are always getting questions around our oils so we decided to put the following chart together to help you select the most appropriate oil for you;

Morning Routine
I always plan to exercise in the mornings but with the cold weather now on us I sometimes prefer to be snuggled up in bed. Lately I have also started experimenting with an ancient Aayurvedic tradition called oil pulling which has been said to have a multitude of health benefits. haven’t heard of it? Google it..   Once I have finished exercising or oil pulling I will then start my morning skin-care routine…

5 Ways to Avoid Dry Skin and Prevent Ageing Skin in WINTER

Posted on August 11, 2014 | Posted under Anti-ageing, Bestseller, cleanse skincare, Dry Shampoo, Haircare, Kosmea, max green alchemy, Natural, natural + organic skincare boutique, S.W Basics, Skin Care, Skin Routine, Skin type, skincando, skincare products, Winter | Leave a Comment

In winter our skin gets dry and it’s harder to keep it hydrated and looking healthy. The lack of moisture in the air combined with the heaters and fires indoors and the harsher external elements that your skin is the buffer to causes dry, flaky, irritated skin that can be prone to blemishes and breakouts and also leads to premature skin ageing.

By changing your skin routine over the colder months you will ensure you maintain healthy, glowing skin and combat premature ageing of your skin.

Here are 5 ways to avoid dry skin and prevent skin ageing in WINTER;

1. Get familiar with using oils on your skin

 Winter is a great time to use oils on your skin as both indoor and outdoor conditions can often leave your skin dry and irritated. For first time oil users or those new to using oil, always remember your skin shouldn't feel “oily” after you have applied it. Oils should absorb into your skin within about 30 seconds, if it doesn't, you are probably using too much.

Less is More - S.W Basics

Sorry, it’s been longer than we had hoped between blog posts….we can’t believe it’s been almost 3 weeks since we launched…wow!

Thanks to everyone for your support – we have been inundated with well wishes and with people wanting to start their clean skincare regime.

We are very pleased with the number of orders so far. Please keep spreading the good word.

Sometimes it can be hard to figure out what combination of products to use. Everyone’s skin type is different. Adding to this difficulty is the weather! As the seasons change (which is happening now) so does our skin and its needs.

One of our favorite brands here at Cleanse is S.W Basics. It is about as pure and simple as skincare gets and the results speak for themselves. Each S.W Basics product contains no more than 5 ingredients with most of them containing less than 5. Fewer ingredients means more potent skincare. The entire line really captures the spirit behind the green beauty movement - less is more when it comes to achieving truly healthy skin.

S.W Basics have come up with a few guidelines depending on your skin type (or a combination), so we thought we would share them to make your choices a little easier.
